Information Technology Director

Martin Community College, located in rural eastern NC, and which serves roughly 860 curriculum students and provides continuing education to nearly 2,000 students annually, is seeking a dynamic Information Technology Director to provide leadership and direction for all aspects of the College’s information systems and technology operations including; management of the administrative system (integrated Datatel/Colleague), network maintenance (software and hardware), security, voice and data communications, web-based applications as well as related support processes for all staff and faculty. The IT Department also manages (but is not limited to) networks, student data bases, servers, desk tops, web-related applications, classroom technologies and other IT related issues on campus. This position reports to the Dean of Administrative Services and supervises two other IT personnel.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in computer science, management of information systems, information technology, or related field. Five years of increasingly responsible management information systems experience is preferred. Preference may also be given to applicants with a Master's degree. Demonstrated decision-making ability, excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service are essential qualifications. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Part-time Custodian (Bertie Campus)

Martin Community College is seeking a part-time custodian for its campus in Windsor. Primary work hours will be 7:30am to 12:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. However, some hours on Fridays and weekends may be needed. Duties include cleaning, maintaining and securing the building. Required qualifications include: High school diploma or GED; Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time; lift and carry equipment; bend, stoop and kneel. Custodial experience preferred. Small Business Center Director

Martin Community College is accepting applications for the Small Business Center Director. Required qualifications include a Master’s degree with major course work in business administration, marketing, small business management or closely related field; two years business experience including at least one year of administrative experience. Responsible for the operation of the Small Business Center to include but not limited to identifying small business needs; one-on-one confidential counseling to assist prospective and existing small business owners; coordinating and implementing seminars, workshops, and short courses; recruit and select presentation and training staff; promote training including publicizing programs through brochures, newsletter and articles; prepare and submit annual reports to appropriate agencies; and possess strong oral and written communication skills.

Dean of Academic Affairs and Student Services

Martin Community College seeks a dynamic leader for the position of Dean of Academic Affairs and Student Services. Reporting to the President, the Dean is responsible for administration of academic programs and student services, policy development, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation.

Required qualifications include a Master's degree (Doctorate preferred) from an accredited college or university; successful teaching and higher education administrative experience, preferably in community colleges; and evidence of a collaborative, inclusive leadership style built on excellent communication skills and a commitment to engaging faculty and staff in decision making.

Student Success Specialist (2 positions, grant-funded)

Martin Community College invites applications for two (2) Student Success Specialists.

Responsibilities include: enrollment/registration, placement test administration, academic advising to include educational and career goals, early alert notifications and follow up, retention and completion initiatives, working with a culturally diverse student population, advising MCC's Student Government Association, and high school outreach. This position may also include teaching sections of ACA 115 and/or ACA 122.

Minimum Requirements: master's degree in counseling or related field from an accredited college or university. Two years experience working with students in a high school or community college setting. Strong computer skills as well as excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills are needed for these positions.

Preferred Requirements: teaching experience in a community college setting. This position is full time and grant funded through December 2017.

Part-time Clinical Instructor for Nurse Aid I and II

Martin Community College is seeking Registered Nurse applicants for Part-Time clinical instruction of Nurse Aide I and II students. Applicants must have an unencumbered North Carolina Nursing License. Experience supervising Nurse Aides required. Cosmetology Instructor

Cosmetology Instructor, nine month position, needed to provide classroom instruction to students using a variety of pedagogical methods including lecture, demonstration, laboratory exercises, hand outs. Will prepare syllabi, lesson plans; develop, prepare and grade tests; act as advisor; maintain record of attendance and salon performance. Participate in pre-registration and registration activities. Requires an associates in Cosmetology or related field and two years’ experience teaching in a community college, current cosmetology license, and a current NC cosmetology instructor’s license. Part-Time Basic Skills Instructor – Bertie Correctional Institute

Martin Community College is seeking to attract qualified applicants for a Basic Skills Part-Time Instructor at Bertie Correctional Institution. The selected candidate(s) will substitute for basic Skills classes at various times as needed.

Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in education with 1 or more years of experience in an instructional setting as a teacher.

Must have the ability and knowledge to provide basic skills instruction to students in reading, writing, science, social studies and math. Must possess skills necessary to make appropriate student assignments for a multi-level classroom, administer assessments and tests and maintain accurate student and program records.

Electrical Systems Technology Instructor (9-month)

This position is at the Bertie Correctional Institution in Windsor, NC and is for approximately 25 hours per week. Responsibilities include planning and teaching industrial safety courses and related instructional activities such as preparing and administering tests and evaluations. Requirements include an Associate degree in Industrial Safety or related field and/or substantial experience in the field. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and/or certifications in industrial safety and teaching experience.

Small Engine Repair Instructor at Bertie Correctional Institution

Martin Community College is seeking talented applicants for a Small Engine Repair Instructor for the Bertie Correctional Institute. The position teaches students to diagnose, adjust, repair and overhaul small engines used to power lawn mowers, chain saws, recreational sporting and related equipment.

General requirements include observing students' work, determine training needs of students, and administer, oral, written, or performance test to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness. Requirements also include developing curricula and plan course content and methods of instruction. Job specific skills include teaching students to repair & maintain gasoline engines used to power equipment. Adjust points, valves, carburetors, distributors, and spark plug gaps as well as test & inspect engines.

An Associate Degree (preferred) from an accredited college with major coursework in Automotive Technology & 3 years of related work experience. ASE certification is required. Applicants with five years of professional experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.

Part-time HVAC Instructor

Martin Community College is seeking talented applicants for P/T HVAC Instructor. The HVAC instructor will be required to provide all instruction as well as determine and maintain equipment needs for the program.

Applicants should be a licensed HVAC Contractor. Applicants should have a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning with at least one year experience in the industry. Applicants with five years of professional experience may be considered in lieu of the degree. Preference will be given to applicants that have the CFC Certification and have prior teaching experience. Applicants will be given immediate consideration.

Required qualifications include an associate degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning from a regionally accredited college. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in HVAC or a related field; community college teaching experience; one year of industry experience; CFC certification; and a Heating Contractor Group 3 licensure. Teaching assignment is at the Bertie Correctional Institute in Windsor, NC. Teaching assignments may be interrupted and/or cancelled at times due to unscheduled prison activities, and all assignments must be made up to fulfill terms of the contract.
