Martin Community College offers world-class training for current and prospective emergency-medical professionals. Courses are designed to meet the needs of local emergency-services agencies, healthcare providers, and the public -- with an emphasis on emergency patient care in pre-hospital and nontraditional settings.

    Carla Godwin is the college's Coordinator of Emergency Management Services.

    Prior to joining MCC, Godwin served as the training officer for the Pasquotank-Camden EMS Department. She has also worked as the training officer for Bertie County’s EMS, Assistant Supervisor for Wilson County EMS, and a part-time instructor for College of the Albemarle, Roanoke Chowan, and Wilson Community College.

    Godwin earned her A.A.S. degree from Wilson Community College in Emergency Medical Science and her B.S. degree from Western Carolina University in Emergency Medical Care. She is currently enrolled in UNC Pembroke’s MBA program.
